Using the Speed Search

The Speed Search bar allows users to enter search criteria for certain basic fields directly into the text box, no minimum search criteria required, and view a dynamic count of matched listings next to the Speed Search bar.

Exact counts are displayed by a green indicator when the number of matches is at or below 1,000 records, at which time the results can be displayed by clicking the magnifying glass inside the text box or pressing Enter. A red indicator will display when no matches are found.

Values entered into the Speed Search must be separated by a semi-colon (;). If a value is entered that is not recognized, an error will display with the invalid criteria and the search will not be allowed to continue. Click the “Clear” icon next to the magnifying glass to quickly remove the current search criteria and start a new search

Please note that the Speed Search feature will automatically expand into a larger pop-up window when necessary for optimal viewing with lower screen resolutions.

The following fields can be searched on in the Speed Search by entering only the value for the field:

• Property Type (e.g., Resi, Residential, Rental, Commercial, etc.)
  • Property Subtype (e.g., Single Family, Condo, etc.)*
• Listing Number (e.g.,11256369, 45226325, 74458659)
• Address (e.g., 1653 Darby, 1808 Kingston Road, 3074 Channel)
• City
• Region
• Area
• Subdivision
• Status (e.g.,Active, Contingent, Sold, Expired)

Please note that when searching by Address, the Speed Search will find listings that match any portion of an address that’s entered in criteria. For example, when searching for a street name that does not include street number or any other indicators or values for the street address, all results that contain the specified keyword will be displayed, including Streets, Cities, Regions, Areas, Subdivisions, and so forth.

*To search Property Subtype, enter a colon after the Property Type and then the Subtype. (e.g., Resi: Single Family, Rental: Condo, etc.)

Note: Alternate labels may be used for some of these fields, as determined by your MLS.

The following fields can be searched on in the Speed Search Bar by entering a label after the value for the field:

• Lot Size:
  • Code: lsf (square foot)
  • Code: lac (acres)
  • You can also search for listings that include values greater than or equal to the one entered (+), values less than or equal to the one entered (-), and a range of values (2000-3000).
  • Example: 2500+ lsf
  • Example: 15-20 lac
• Year Built
  • Code: yb
  • You can also search for listings that include values greater than or equal to the one entered (+), values less than or equal to the one entered (-), and a range of values (1995-2000).
  • Example: 1950+ yb
  • Example: 2000- yb
• Age
  • Code: age, yo
  • You can also search for listings that include values greater than or equal to the one entered (+), values less than or equal to the one entered (-), and a range of values (10-15).
  • Example: 25+ age
  • Example: 10- yo
• Beds
  • Code bd(s), bed(s), bedroom(s)
  • You can also search for listings that include values greater than or equal to the one entered (+), values less than or equal to the one entered (-), and a range of values (3-4).
  • Example: 1-2 beds
  • Example: 5+ bedrooms
• Total Baths
  • Code: ba(s), bh(s), bath(s), bathroom(s)
  • You can also search for listings that include values greater than or equal to the one entered (+), values less than or equal to the one entered (-), and a range of values (2-3).
  • Example: 1 ba
  • Example: 2-3 bathrooms
• Square Footage
  • Code: sf
  • You can also search for listings that include values greater than or equal to the one entered (+), values less than or equal to the one entered (-), and a range of values (2000-3000).
  • Example: 1000+ sf
• ZIP Code
  • Code: zip
  • Example: 92870 zip

The following fields can be searched on in the Speed Search Bar by entering a label before the value for the field:

• Search Price
  • Code: $
  • You can also search for listings that include values greater than or equal to the one entered (+), values less than or equal to the one entered (-), and a range of values (150000-200000).
  • Example: $100000-
  • Example: $500000-525000
• Date Range
  • Code: CD, Cdate (Contingent Date)
  • Code: ED, Edate (Entry Date)
  • Code: XD, Xdate (Expiration Date)
  • Code: ID, Idate (Inactive Date)
  • Code: LD, Ldate (Listing Date)
  • Code: OMD, OMdate (On Market Date)
  • Code: PD, Pdate (Pending Date)
  • Code: SD, Sdate (Selling Date)
  • Dates can be entered in the following formats:
    • mm/dd/yyyy-mm/dd/yyyy
    • mm/dd/yy-mm/dd/yy
    • mm/dd/yyyy
    • mm/dd/yy
    • mm/dd/yyyy+
    • mm/dd/yy+
    • mm/dd/yyyy-
    • mm/dd/yy-
    • You can also search days back by entering the number of days back after the code (i.e., Sdate 30, LD 90)
  • Example: Pdate 04/01/2011-05/01/2011
  • Example: SD 01/01/2010-01/01/2011

When searching by multiple field types in the Speed Search, the field types must be separated by a semi-colon (;) (e.g., Residential; 50-75 lac; $700000-; active). Likewise, when searching by a Street Address and a City, the field types must be separated by a semi-colon (;) (e.g., 1234 Main St.; Los Angeles).

When searching for multiple values of the same field type in the Speed Search, the values must be separated by a comma (,) (e.g., for a Listing Number search: 11256369, 45226325, 74458659).

Examples of valid criteria for the Speed Search:

• Resi: Condo; 3+ bedrooms; $100000-115000; active
• Commercial: Retail; 5000-5500 sf; $300000-350000; contingent
• Residential: Single Family; 50-75 lac; $700000-; 1990+ yb; active
• Sold; LD 04/01/2011-04/30/2011
